About Roll for Two

Two people. One player, one Dungeon Master. Both trying to make sessions actually happen—without burning out on prep, arguments about rules, or awkward silences at the table.

The story

We started playing D&D together in 2023 and quickly discovered the same thing every new group discovers: the game is incredible, and the learning curve is steep. The rulebooks are dense, the online advice ranges from intimidatingly detailed to uselessly vague, and most of it assumes you already know what you're doing.

So we started writing the guides we wished we'd had. Short, practical, honest. Written from both sides of the screen—because the player experience and the DM experience are genuinely different, and both deserve their own advice.

Roll for Two is what came out of that.

Jasper — the Dungeon Master

My name is Jasper Breukers, and for the past six months I've been the Dungeon Master of our chaotic, but amazing party. In that time, I've crafted epic stories, built mysterious worlds, and brought countless NPCs to life… only to be relentlessly bullied by my own players for just as long.

Every session, I balance between guiding a serious adventure and simply surviving their jokes, unexpected decisions, and complete disregard for my carefully prepared plans. And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.

Because despite everything—or maybe because of it—I love this group. They make every session unpredictable, hilarious, and above all unforgettable. So yes, I'm their DM… but sometimes it feels more like I'm the final boss constantly being trolled by his own party.

Rudy — the player

My name is Rudy van Tuijn, and since 2023 I've been part of that same chaotic energy our DM bravely tries to keep under control. I've spent some time behind the screen myself, building worlds and running stories… but if I'm honest, my heart belongs on the player side. That's where the moments feel just a little more alive, and where a perfectly timed action can matter more than the most carefully crafted plan.

These days, I wander from tavern to tavern as Remy Flint—a bard with too many instruments, a pocket full of songs, and absolutely no fear of charming a room before the first round is even poured. Does it always go according to plan? Absolutely not. But that's exactly where the fun begins.

And let's be real—someone has to make sure Jasper's carefully prepared scenes fall apart at just the right moment.
